History
The Palazzo Gagliardo is located in Polizzi Generosa .
The town is at 917m altitude and is well-known for
its ancient origins, a topic of extended debate
amongst historians.
Polizzi Generosa, aside from a few brief periods,
was always state property. King Federico II gave it
the title "Generosa" (generous) in 1234.
Polizzi was an attraction for royalty : Queen
Elisabeth of Aragon, Queen Bianca of Navarra (vicar
to the Kingdom of Sicily) and Emperor Carlo V who,
according to some information, resided at Palazzo
Gagliardo.
