Full-day guided tour of
Palermo.
Founded by the Phenicians,
ancestors of the
Carthaginians, during the
8th century B.C., the city
bears many traces of various
rulers.
The visit focuses mainly on
the Norman Palermo of
Federico II. Of particular
interest, nestled in the
Palazzo dei Normanni is the
Cappella Palatina. When
possible, a visit to the
Sicilian Parliament is
scheduled.
The following stopover is a
visit to the Duomo di
Monreale which contains over
10 000 sq.m. of golden
mosaics and its fabulous
cloister, renowned for its
elegant columns and arab
fountain.
After a brief pause for
lunch, the tour continues
with a visit to the tombs of
the Norman kings in
Palermo's splendid Cathedral.
The tour maintains an
Arab-Norman imprimatur with
